Turkish Aeronautical Association
Overview
Turkish Aeronautical Association aims to be the center of production and training activities in the field of aviation and space; in order to achieve this, it started to work on the transfer of intellectual knowledge, which has been accumulated over the years, to an academic basis.
Thanks to a university that will be the source of the trained work force, research and R&D support required for production, Turkey has been dreamed that will be at the forefront of space exploration and will be able to produce aircraft and export them to the world as before. Studies to establish “the Turkish Aeronautical Association University” started in 2010. In order to establish the “Aviation Foundation” by taking the first step on April 21, 2010, an application has been made to the relevant authorities.
Following the establishment stages of the university, a working team has been established for designing the academic and administrative structure, determining the physical needs, execution of all communication, coordination, document and information presentation conducted between the Aviation Foundation and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). By studying the universities in the field of aeronautical, a comprehensive feasibility report has been prepared for the establishment of the "University of Aviation and Space Sciences". In line with this report, the application of foundation file which is related to the Turkey's first and only specialized university of aeronautics and astronautics has been delivered to the Council of Higher Education on September 3, 2010.
The proposal for the establishment of "THK University" was discussed and accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on February 17, 2011 and became law. The relevant law was signed by our dear President, and entered into force on March 3, 2011, with the publication of Law No. 6114 in the Official Gazette No. 27863. Turkish Aeronautical Association University, which has adopted the duty of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to the whole Turkish Nation by saying "The future is in the skies", and being aware of the responsibility of the first "aerospace and specialized university” in Turkey, the university started education in the central campus in Ankara in the 2011-2012 Education Period.
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate learners who will contribute to the development of the global competitiveness of our country in the field of "Aviation and Space Sciences", are equipped with contemporary knowledge and skills at every level from associate degree to doctorate, are devoted to Atatürk's goal of "reaching the level of contemporary civilization", researcher, analytical and creative talents. Moreover, our mission is to be an innovative higher education and research institution that hosts high quality education, research and development programs, has internalized quality culture, uses its knowledge and competencies for the benefit of humanity and the country.
Campus Life
It is an administrative unit that aims to provide an effective and efficient learning environment by supporting the personal, cultural, social and professional development of the students of the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association in order to improve their quality of life by ensuring their adaptation to university life, by cooperating with the relevant administrative and academic units to produce solutions to their problems. It is within the scope of duty to support students to be successful in national and international areas in order to ensure that they become individuals who are beneficial to society by protecting their physical and mental health. It aims to maximize the life skills and individual potential of students by providing counseling. The service areas of our unit are as follows:
-Listens to students' problems regarding university life, seeks solutions to problems in cooperation with relevant administrative and academic units,
-Works in the fields of culture, arts and sports,
-Follows and contributes to the activities of student groups,
-Conducts studies to increase the quality of life of students,
-Provides support for students to create a more effective and efficient learning environment,
-Conducts the opening and operation of student clubs and communities, helps with the organizations they will organize,
-Consultants to groups consisting of volunteer students, provides environments that will provide students with life skills,
A solution-oriented unit where thoughts regarding the quality of student life at the university can be shared, all kinds of problems are listened to.
Sports Unit;
To prepare an environment that will provide healthy living habits to Turkish Aeronautical Association University students, to enrich campus life and to provide students with sports skills that they can use throughout their lives by organizing quality physical education, sports and conditioning programs. Our mission; Our aim is to ensure that our university students and staff work and develop in areas they are interested in outside of their education, to provide them with the opportunity to do sports in a healthy and clean environment and to provide them with sports skills that they can use throughout their lives. In addition, our licensed athletes represent our university in many different branches.
